This week, we held our AGM – an opportunity to meet with our directors, board members and shareholders to sign our financial statements, celebrate our achievements, and commit to further improvements.
We packed lots into the afternoon, so settle down and let us catch you up:
“This year we’ve turned ambition into action”
Chair of the Board, Amanda Davies, kicked off the official business by reflecting on our recent achievements, including:
– Driving a real boost in customer satisfaction across all of our core areas, including quality of home, overall repairs, and response to ASB.
– Extending our footprint beyond Bridgend to meet growing housing needs. Most notably, we’ve begun planning our first affordable scheme in Cardiff!
– Securing a green judgement for Governance and Service Delivery, which gives us reassurance that we’re running our organisation effectively.

Marking a milestone in service improvement
Last year, we shared that we were embarking on our journey to achieve accreditation through the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).
We’re so proud that we’ve officially achieved our first award – the bronze award – and we shared this news with everyone at the AGM.
Working towards full accreditation involves drafting an action plan and showing evidence of our progress. We’ve already trained 60 members of frontline staff to respond to disclosure of abuse and implemented a new domestic abuse customer policy. You can read more here or find support here.
Celebrating our QED accreditation
Since last year, we’ve been working towards achieving Tai Pawb’s Quality in Equality and Diversity award – a prestigious quality mark for the Welsh housing sector. It provides a rigorous framework to help organisations assess and improve their approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.
We welcomed the team from Tai Pawb to the AGM so we could thank them for helping us establish inclusive practices, like adding accessibility features to our website, and setting up an Equal Voice Group for customers to shape our services.

Our long-serving colleagues take centre-stage!
We were also pleased to show our appreciation to some of our longest serving colleagues during our AGM. We invited those who are celebrating 10, 15, or 20 years of service at Valleys to Coast so we could present them with shopping vouchers (and cake!) as a token of our thanks.
So, how are our finances looking?
Next, we presented the Valleys to Coast Limited Annual Financial Statements for the financial year ending 31st March 2026.
We’re pleased to report that we finished the year in a strong financial position, with a surplus of £1,779k – a significant increase from £701k in the previous year – and net assets now standing at £52.5m.
But beyond that, we’ve provided 200 people with a safe and warm home, invested £16 million in our current homes, and completed 29,000 repairs.

Where we’re heading next
Our AGM offers a chance to share our priorities for the year ahead:
- Investing in technology, data and AI.
- Ensuring Sylfaen’s development activity is financially efficient.
- Carrying out a health check to ensure the way our governance is structured delivers the highest standards of scrutiny and support.
Introducing our new corporate plan!
Finally, we launched a fresh corporate plan: our roadmap for the next five years, which will keep us on track to achieve our long-term goals.
