A trickle vent is a small opening in your window, designed to allow fresh air to flow and keep your home well-ventilated.

Please do not cover your window vents. Trickle vents reduce moisture, which is necessary to prevent condensation and mould. If you are concerned that your window is draughty, please confirm that it is not the trickle vent doing its job before contacting our customer service Hub for a replacement.

While you may feel a draught, trickle vents shouldn’t significantly impact the temperature of the room. However, there are things you can do to keep your home well-ventilated and warm at the same time:

  • Use lined curtains
  • Keep doors closed
  • Use draught excluders if necessary
  • Contact our Money Matters team if you are struggling with your heating bills.
