Wyndham House

In 2027, we’ll be moving to a new office space inside Wyndham House – right in the heart of Bridgend Town Centre! While the new office will be more accessible to our customers and more comfortable for our colleagues, the redevelopment of the building will also play a major role in the regeneration of Bridgend town, meaning the benefits will be felt by the whole community.

Our big plans for the building include:

  • Eight new one-bed apartments to provide much-needed affordable housing.
  • New commercial units to help small businesses thrive.
  • A warm and comfy reception that you can pop into for a cuppa and chat, accessible right off the high street!

Your questions answered

Why is this money not going towards improving your repairs service or building new homes?

Turning a rental cost into a valuable asset increases our financial stability and our borrowing power. We know our homes need some love and care, so this extra funding will be invested directly back into repairing and improving our 6,000 homes across Bridgend.

How can we afford the move?

We’ve been awarded £1.7m through the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme to support the redevelopment of Wyndham House. This programme was established specifically to support the regeneration of Welsh towns, and we’re proud to be playing a part in revitalising our town centre.

Why do you need a bigger office when lots of your staff work from home?

We’ve grown as an organisation and created a dedicated company, Llanw to repair our homes. In the last financial year, we welcomed 36 new colleagues to Valleys to Coast, and 26 to Llanw. We also invested in 7 new apprentices.
We offer hybrid working as we know flexibility matters to our staff, but we adhere to a hybrid working policy that sets out expectations for regular office attendance. For some roles that’s a minimum of two days a week, while others need to be in more often. We also use our office space for training, briefings, collaboration, and community events.

What is happening with the post office?

We are in discussion with the Post Office regarding their plans and we’ll keep people updated as soon as we know more.

If there are 300 colleagues coming into the town each week, where are they going to park?

Our colleagues already use the surrounding town centre car parks, including nearby sites like Rhiw, and that will likely continue. Being closer to the train station is another plus, and we’re encouraging more people to use public transport where they can.
