We’re excited to start work on our Ffaldau Arms development on Oxford Street -and we’re bringing you on the journey from the get go.
Since a fire destroyed the old pub in 2007, the land has remained empty, but we saw its potential to form the foundation of a thriving community!

Key features:
- 12 one and two-bed apartments, all for social rent.
- Half-hourly bus service to Bridgend and Blaengarw
- Shops, schools and cafes within walking distance of the homes
- Homes built using modern methods of construction to reduce the impact on the environment.
How are we funding and delivering the scheme?
The Welsh Government is contributing £2.1 million (65% of the scheme’s total cost) to help us transform the derelict site into much-needed housing.
We know this sounds like a lot of money, but building new homes strengthens our position to borrow money from banks – which can be reinvested in your home and community.
We’re excited to work with Neath-based contractor CJ Construction, who will deliver the scheme and contribute £5,000 in community benefits to support local projects. This way, everybody benefits
Rob Green, Director of Growth and Partnerships said:
“We’re excited to bring another vacant site back to life, demonstrating our passion for investing in Bridgend’s communities.
“By making sustainability a central focus of the design and building processes, we’re delivering 12 homes that are fit for the future and cost- effective for customers to live well in.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the first customers late next year.”
We’re in your community on 1st July!
