Thanks to your feedback, we’re launching a competition to celebrate local champions!

We know there are some hidden heroes who make Bridgend a better place, and they deserve recognition and a thank-you gift from us!

Can you shine the spotlight on them?

Nominate a champion!

What can I nominate someone for?

Being a community champion: Someone who does something good for the benefit of people in their community. This person may help an elderly neighbour with shopping, volunteer regularly, or run a local club.

Champion of our outdoor spaces: Someone who looks after their garden or street, helping the community to look that little bit better! Get creative and think of the proud planter of the tallest sunflower, the grower of the tastiest tomatoes, or the local litter-picker.

Nominations now open

Take two minutes to nominate yourself, a neighbour or a friend before 18th August!

If you’re nominating someone for looking after an outdoor space, we’d love to see a photo or video of it, if possible, so we can judge fairly.

Get your garden ready!

It’s not too late to roll up your sleeves and get to work on your garden, and you can nominate yourself for your hard work! If you’re not sure where to start, email estates@v2c.org.uk for some top tips.

A September ceremony

We’ll be judging the nominations for the outdoor spaces champion in August.

Then, we’ll be celebrating both the community champions and the outdoor spaces champions at an awards ceremony in September!

This will be a chance to put names to faces, say a proper ‘thank you’ and enjoy good food and good company.
