We’re excited to announce the beginning of our very first development project outside Bridgend. In partnership with Castell Group Ltd, we’re set to build high-quality, energy-efficient affordable housing in Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf, addressing a critical need for new homes in the area.

Our project site is a brownfield location that once housed the YMCA building, which was destroyed by fire in November 2008. By redeveloping this site, we’re not only creating much-needed housing but also revitalising a long-neglected area.

We’re building 21 EPC A-rated one-bedroom flats, each designed with non-fossil fuel heating and solar panels to support our customers with their cost of living. Embracing innovative construction techniques, we’ll use a closed-panel timber frame system. This method involves pre-assembling and pre-insulating timber panels off-site, ensuring efficiency and quality.

All homes will be available at social rent and will be allocated through the general needs waiting list with RCT Council via Home Finder RCT, ensuring they go to those who need them most.

Our goal is to have these homes ready for Spring 2026. The next steps include setting up the site in the coming weeks and planning community engagement events to keep residents informed and involved.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting journey to provide new, affordable homes in Porth!
