Since 2008, Valleys to Coast has collected the water and sewerage charges for your home on behalf of Welsh Water. This has changed as of 1 April 2023.

What has changed?

From 1 April 2023, you will pay your water and sewerage charges directly to Welsh Water. 

What will happen to the balance on my water account?

Valleys to Coast closed your existing water account on 31 March 2023 and your balance will have been transferred to Welsh Water. 

Welsh Water will issue a new bill in April 2023 which will include this balance.

I pay by Direct Debit, do I need to do anything?

Once you have made your last direct debit payment in March 2023, we will cancel your existing water direct debit with Valleys to Coast. Welsh Water will issue you a bill and upon receipt of this you will need to contact them directly to set up a new direct debit. Contact details will be on the new bill.

I pay my water charges to Valleys to Coast by payment card. Can I use this to pay Welsh Water?

No, you will need to stop using your Valleys to Coast water payment card.

Any payments made using your Valleys to Coast water payment card from 1 April 2023 will not be received by Welsh Water. 

Welsh Water will issue you a bill and upon receipt of this you will need to contact them directly to request a new payment card. Contact details will be on the new bill.

I pay my water charges using the Allpay mobile app. Can I use this to pay Welsh Water?

No, any water payments made using the Allpay app from 1 April 2023 will not be received by Welsh Water.

I pay my water charges to Valleys to Coast through my benefits. Will these stop?

Yes, Valleys to Coast will cancel the deductions for your water charges with the DWP. Welsh Water will issue you a bill and upon receipt of this you will need to contact them directly to request deductions to continue from your benefits. Contact details will be on the new bill.

I am receiving help with my water bills through the HelpU/HelpU 365 Scheme. Will this continue?

Yes, Welsh Water will continue to offer this support and your new bill will reflect any reduction that you receive. If your eligibility needs to be checked Welsh Water will contact you directly.

I am receiving help with my water bills through the Water Assist Scheme. Will this continue?

Yes, Welsh Water will continue to offer this support and your new bill will reflect any reduction that you receive. If your eligibility needs to be checked Welsh Water will contact you directly.

I am on the Customer Assistance Fund with Valleys to Coast. Will this continue?

Yes, this will transfer with your account to Welsh Water and they will contact you when this has been completed.

Do I have the option for Valleys to Coast to continue billing me?

No, there is no option available for this to continue.
