As the largest single social landlord within Bridgend County Borough, owning and managing approximately 6,000 homes, we want to provide homes where people feel safe and happy, now and in the future.
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing current and future generations, and we are focused on being sustainable and becoming carbon neutral by 2030, whilst regenerating our local communities to build a better Bridgend and Wales.
Assets and Sustainability Strategy
There are many cross cutting themes through the strategy however, for the sake of clarity, the vision will be achieved with the following five priorities:
Using the voice of the customer to shape services.
We want customers and colleagues to think about how we can all reduce our impact on the planet and help us reach our sustainability goals, as outlined in our Assets and Sustainability Strategy.
It’s important to us that we provide homes that are warm, safe and affordable to run – homes that are fit for future generations. We want to grow to meet housing needs, and to make sure all our customers have a home they are proud to live in.
We have an important role to play in our communities. We want to be placemakers, working with people to ensure neighbourhoods are safe, attractive and connected. We want to ensure that we engage with our customers so we can make the greatest impact.
We have pledged to create better places here in Wales, signing up to the Wales’ Placemaking Charter. By taking a Placemaking approach to development we are aiming to create safer, happier communities that our customers can feel proud to live in.
For most of us, it may be too much of a stretch to install solar panels or a new eco-efficient boiler, but we can all make smaller changes in our own homes and lifestyles and together they add up to a big difference.
