Keeping our community safe is at the heart of what we do.

Last year, we kicked off our #LoveYourStreet campaign with skip amnesty days, for customers to dispose of waste responsibly and chat with our Estates Team. Speaking to customers afterwards, it was clear the events had an impact – as one customer put it: “I feel happier here now!”.

Now, we’re stepping up our efforts to make Bridgend a brighter place!

How do we look after our estates?

Each estate is given set maintenance time, funded through the service charge you pay. Unfortunately, years spent clearing fly-tipping meant some estates used their time on waste collection instead.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve collected 15,805 tonnes of rubbish, filling 27 skips and 86 vans. This has cost us £24,000, which could be better spent on improving our homes and our services.

Making up for lost time!

In August we launched our #LoveYourStreet Clear Up Days, where colleagues and customers join forces to edge paths, clear moss and pathways, and cut back shrubs and hedges.

But it’s also a chance for us to listen to what you love about where you live, and what improvements you’d like to see. We can’t fix everything, but we promise to do our best to signpost you to those who can help.

We’ll be holding more of these events in the new year, so keep an eye on our Facebook page, where we’ll announce the dates and locations soon!
