A safe, affordable home is the foundation for a decent life, so we’re really proud to be welcoming 56 people to our new development in Blaenllynfi.

Families, couples and single people will be putting down roots in Bridgend thanks to the fourteen one-bed flats and six 2-4 bed houses on offer. Seven of the flats are ground-level with wetrooms to accommodate people with limited mobility.
The homes cost around £3.5 million, with up to 70% of this being funded by the Welsh Government’s Social Housing Grant. By having a mix of homes available, we’ll generate more rental income, which we can reinvest in our current homes.
Decent homes are fundamental to our health and wellbeing, so these properties have been allocated by Bridgend Council to those most in need of an affordable home, including five families with strong connections to Maesteg.
And there’s more good news – Pendragon has contributed £7,830 in community benefits. £2,000 of this has gone to Noddfa Community Project, a local initiative offering opportunities for children and adults to access activities, classes, and informal or accredited learning. £5,830 is being contributed towards a new community fund that we’ll be launching this Autumn!
Homes that help people and the planet
The homes have been built using modern methods of construction, including pre-assambling renewable timber frames, reducing the carbon footprint of properties.
The homes have also achieved an impressive EPC-A energy rating, which will help customers to save money by keeping their utility costs low.
We’ve also opted for air source heat pumps instead of traditional gas heating within the homes, supporting our ambition to develop houses that are fit for the future.
A warm welcome
We’re planning a welcome event for our new customers on 23rd July. It’ll be a chance for them to get to know us and each other, and to feel part of the community.
We’ll also be showing off the development to our new Board members on our bus tour in August. And, we’re going to officially open the site with our Board members, customers, and councillors on 3rd September!
We’re proud of this development and to be providing more people with a safe and comfortable place to call home.
