Your safety is our priority, so you’ll find a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm in your home when you move in. These devices work by sounding a loud alarm if they detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide – a deadly, odorless and invisible gas.

For the alarms to do their job, they must remain in their designated locations.

Please DO NOT:

  • Move your alarm
  • Take your alarm down
  • Place your alarm in an enclosed space like a cupboard or drawer.

Obstructing the alarm in any way can prevent it from detecting carbon monoxide and alerting you to a potentially life-threatening situation.

If you’re installing an additional alarm yourself, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Proper installation is key to making sure the alarm works.

Remember, carbon monoxide poisoning can happen suddenly and without warning. You can find out more about carbon monoxide prevention, and the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning here.
