Apprenticeships

In line with our strategic objective to develop and support Safe and Happy Colleagues, we are committed to providing apprenticeship opportunities throughout the organisation.  We aim to provide opportunities for people starting out in their careers and those looking to change their career path or upskill in a different area.

An apprenticeship is a development or training programme designed to improve knowledge, skills and behaviours. Apprentices are in paid employment and the programme includes on and off-the-job training (typically with support from a third-party training provider). Apprenticeships will typically last one to two years.

All our apprenticeship vacancies are advertised via our website. Sign up for job alerts here!

Cyfle Building Skills apprentice scheme (Link opens in new window)

We have launched a partnership with Cyfle Building Skills which will create more apprenticeship and employment opportunities in our communities.

Cyfle Building Skills is a shared apprenticeship scheme that has employed more than 650 apprentices to date, making it the largest shared apprenticeship scheme in the UK. Currently based in South West Wales, the new collaboration will see them extend their offering into Bridgend.

We want to build on our existing apprenticeship schemes and increase the number of apprentices working directly for us, as well as with the contractors we employ.

Work experience (Link opens in new window)

We support a number of programmes aiming to bridge the gap for those entering the workforce for the first time or looking for a change in career. These take the form of work experience placements supported by third parties such as Bridgend College. If you are interested in a work experience placement with us, please send us an email!
