This week is Carers Week, a week dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contributions of carers. We are taking this fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on our Charity of the Year, Bridgend Carers Centre, and support the amazing work they do.
Back in February, we visit to Bridgend Carers Centre, where we had the chance to meet the dedicated staff and the wonderful carers who benefit from their services. Since then, we have said goodbye to Helen Pitt who has retired as CEO, and we now welcome Sarah Jarvis as the new CEO. The centre has also moved to a new location in Cefn Cribwr.
Carers Week Events
During the month of June, Bridgend Carers Centre has planned a series of events to celebrate Carers Week, which we will be join in on to spreading the word about the support on offer for our customers. Here are some of the activities we will be attending:
- Wednesday, 12 June: Wellbeing sessions (time to be confirmed) and the weekly community café from 12 noon to 2 pm at Cefn Cribwr.
- Thursday, 13 June: Parent carers group with Davina.
- Monday, 17 June: Official Opening Event in conjunction with Kenfig Hill & Pyle Festival. This is a perfect chance to see their new base, network with others, and engage with the community.
